The Visitor

This world opens under me
flying over it all
on wings so bright
on wings burning
from the fire of sun within

Laying eyes on tiny lives below
I'm feeling them feel
giving them light
giving them dreams
of better days to come

I will bring you hope
I will bring you warmth
I'll bring you everything you need
And all I ask
for what I give
is to see you on your knees

Passing over the kings of men
I'm gently reaching down
blinding minds
binding hearts
my will tears them apart

The young I see, the old I see
oh how they welcome me
with their hands
with their souls
their spirits calling out

I will bring you hope
I will bring you warmth
I'll bring you everything you need
And all I ask
for what I give
is to see you on your knees

To them I give my only gift
and for the joy I bring
I take their thoughts
I make them mine
for me to use at will

And when I've taken what I need
I smile and take my leave
My gift grows cold
My gift grows old
they fall as I burn bright

And though they call for me
not to leave them behind
I'm on my way once more
and I'm glad to know they're feeling
what they never felt before

I fly again for distant lands
to sit in godly halls
I'll leave them cold
I'll leave them old
With a smile I conquer all

I will bring you hope
I will bring you warmth
I'll bring you everything you need
And all I ask
for what I give
is to see you on your knees
