In March 1994 I got my first Lapponian Herder, my very special "Geeni". She celebrated her 11th birthday in january 2005. She has been a wonderful companion, and a pleasure to train and trial in obedience. Geeni also had a successful showcareer.

There has been seven litters of Lapponian Herders since. The first litter was born in 1998, Tuulenkuun A-litter. One of Geeni's sons Fin CH, JK3, FH1 Tuulenkuun Alkaloidi-Aslak "Solu" has continued her lines to Tuulenkuun B-litter. And one of B-litter's boy has continued this breeding-line to Tuulenkuun D-litter in february 2002. There is also the third generation on their way. My C-litter mother was my own Solu's halfsister "Saaga".

Geeni and Solu share the household with me, all the others live in their own, loving homes. We train and trial with both of our dogs in obedience and agility. Solu also competes in tracking and practices schutzhund. (protection).

Three dogs of Tuulenkuun A-litter have achieved trial results, four have been shown in dog shows. Each dog lives a happy life as a family dog. My aim is to breed healthy Lapponian Herders with good temperament and ability to work.
Each dog have been hip-tested and eye-tested.
There is coming a third generation of homebred Lapponian Herders waiting to start their career in both trials and showfields.

Tuulenkuun A-litter

There were one litter of puppies born under Tuulenkuun prefix in 1998. Puppies born March 19th 1998: 4 males, 1 female.
Sire: Finnish & Swedish Ch. Winner -96-98-00-01, Nordic Winner -97-01 Kivimannun Kivikkoketopeto.
"Peto" is a multiple Best of Breed winner and has group placements in international dog shows (in FCI Group 5). He's also a multiple Best In Show-winner.
This lovely male is both a loyal family companion and a first prize Obedience winner.
Health examinations: Eyes clear, hips A/A, knees 0/0. All tested and healthy.
"Peto's" pedigree: his dam is a multichampion and multiwinner, his sire is a reindeer herder working in Lappland.

Dam: Finnish Show and Obedience Champion Juoksa Geeni.
"Geeni" (in English "Gene") started her show career splendidly by winning Best Puppy in Show three times and being BIS-3 puppy in an international dog show.
She has won Best of Breed and Best of Opposite Sex in both national and international shows.
Geeni is the first Lapponian Herder ever to become an Obedience Champion. Geeni has got exellent results and made wonderful PR-work in Finnish Championship Team Trials in obedience in 1995 and 1996.
In Agility Geeni competed at Finnish Championship level in 1997 championship trials. There were over a hundred competitors. She took the 8th place with exellent performance.
Tests: Geeni's herding instinct has been tested with sheep. She has passed the Finnish character test (+126p). Health examinations: eyes OK, knees 0-0 and hips A/A.

Tuulenkuun B-litter

There were second litter of puppies born under Tuulenkuun prefix in 2000. DOB: January 6th 2000: 4 males, 2 females.
Sire: FIN CH, JK3, FH1 (JK3 is tracking title, class 3, FH1 special tracking title) Tuulenkuun Alkaloidi-Aslak "Solu" (in English "Cell"). He was the first Lapponian Herder ever to achieve first prize in tracking trial in Finland: the obedience score was 96 points (the maximum being 100) and the tracking score 192 points (max. 200). He is also competing in agility class 3 with a good success, obedience in class 3, FH in class 1, and training Schutzhund.
Solu has three certificates from dog shows and came a champion at age two by going only those 3 dog shows. He was every time the best male.
Health examinations: eyes OK and hips tested (A/A). Solu's brother "Otto" has eyes clear, hips A/A, elbows 0/0 and obedience results. He is FIN & EST & LTU & LV & Belarus Champion. LV Winner-02 and Lithua Winner-02. Otto has passed reindeer herding test in March 2000. Otto has also agility results and rescue & search results (PERA-A, PEHA, HK3, JK2, BH). Solu's sister "Savu" also passed the reindeer herding test at the same time like Otto and took part in a reindeer herding competition with a good success. Both of them showed very good tending behavior. Savu's hips are A/B, eyes OK and she is also passed the rescue-test in Finland. Savu is the first Lapponian Herder ever, who has passed that searching-rescue test.
Solu's brother "Leevi" is practising to search and rescue, he has hips A/A and eye OK. Solu's brother "Sisu" have eyes clear, hips A/A.

Dam: Iresa Humoreski "Pimu" a solidly brown-coloured bitch.
Pimu's herding instinct has been tested with reindeer. She has passed the Finnish character test, the result being 209 points (max 300). Pimu has a lot of character, she is a very safe companion and protects her family instinctively. Health examinations: eyes and hips tested (A/A). Pimu has only one result from a dog show (her owner is not interested in shows); she got the first quality prize. The most important thing for me as a breeder is that Pimu has a soundly structured body, although she is not a champion level female. Pimu's parents are both from working dog lines and they are Finnish Champions. Her parents´ (Ch. Bennu and Ch. Iresa Diidii) own parents are so-called "unknown" dogs - this means they were unregistered working dogs (without pedigrees). That is very common in Lapponian Herders' pedigrees in Finland.

Health and temperament are the most important factors for us. I hope to see every Tuulenkuun's puppy eye-tested and hip-examinated by the age of 1-2. All eye results and hip scores will be published. Only dogs with normal health status are used for breeding.
