A PROGRAM FOR VETERINARY CLINIC / ANIMAL HOSPITAL
From here you can download a free program for veterinary clinic. This software has made to (between 2000-2006) veterinary teaching hospital in Helsinki University, department of veterinary medicine. VTH had about 40 workstations, and this program managed all patient information, that is, program has all functions from appointments to handling bills in due. Operations for lost and found animals are also included. The same program was used both in small animal and big animal (in practise, horses) -clinics. The program is done by Delphi, and it works in standalone notebook as well as in network. Program uses separate language modules, so it is easy to translate it to another language. (Translation to another language takes about 10 hours, this includes stops for a cigarette). To change from one language to another happens on the fly.
Unzip the file clisetup.zip to a temporary directory and read the readme.txt. Clisetup.zip contains file named "clisetup.exe" which should be version 4.0 or greater. Clinic.zip is the program itself. It works with ODBC data sources, MSsql-server (version 7.0 or newer), MYSQL (www.mysql.com), InterBase, and it should work also (not tried) with Oracle and Sybase databases. Lang.zip contains language modules for Finnish, English, German, Russian, Latvian, Swedish and Hebrew. "Savo" is available on some day. Borland database engine bdesetup.zip is also required. It is quite big (6,3 Mb), and it includes drivers for MSsql-server, Sybase and Oracle. A file codes_se.zip has some codes translated to swedish, and codes_fi.zip has codes translated to finnish.
MS Word file setup.zip (setup.doc) has a little more accurate instructions how to setup ODBC-database (as wrote in readme.txt-file). ODBC data source is the easiest way to setup a database, because all necessary are built in Windows.
Current version (clinic.exe) is 10.5 (16-jun-2010).
If you have new ideas/comments, it would be nice to know about them.
