It's a cumulative patch containing all the previous releases and works with retail and downloadable Bloodlines versions! The content of the Troika Games official patch 1.2 is included so it can be installed over any release and version. But applying it to an international version will revert all localizations back to english! To install the patch choose the Bloodlines installation directory as destination and then basic or plus. The registry will not be changed but it can't be uninstalled! Thanks to Jordan Russel for Inno Setup. Changelogs, restorations, known issues solutions and more are listed below. It is strongly recommended to start a new game after patching to avoid strange issues but updating at the start of a hub may work. The default basic patch fixes multiple bugs and restores only little unused content that has no impact on gameplay. The optional plus (+) patch adds further improvements and restored content, see changelog. Patched engine.dll and shaderapidx9.dll files are included to repair refresh-rate, lights-through-walls, no-coronas and bad-textures-with -more-than-2-GB-memory bugs, also the downloadable vampire.dll file. On issues in Windows 7/Vista install as administrator without UAC to default C:\Program Files (x86)\Activision\Vampire - Bloodlines, then disable visual themes/desktop composition and run without DEP as XP. On problems with Steam run Steam and game as administrator, then the unpatched game once, go to offline mode, disable steam community and auto update, exit Steam and install to \steamapps\common\vampire ... Special thanks go to burgermeister for building the library map from scratch, the geometry, the textures, the lighting and most entities, using the SDK of Fire64 and Psycho-A, to a layout conceived together with Wesp5. Most enemies drop only one weapon, some exit map icons are absent. Don't leave the building of the murder before talking to the bum. Occasionally mailboxes do not receive rewards or objects drop out. There is a way to exploit armors and stats, but we won't tell it. In some cutscenes people look or move strangely and bodies vanish. Prof. Johansen's christian name is stated to be Ingvar or Anders. Selling too much to vendors makes goods unavailable or game crash. Sometimes the black inside of tunnels or manholes will disappear. Occasionally Ash will talk with you while a hunter is still alive. Feeding on rats may trigger melee mode and their bodies levitate. Don't save or leave levels with disciplines active or on a ladder. On Confession cross, third person view zooms and corpses fall in. The news will not always fit to your actual actions but that's TV. Some buildings look differently from the inside than the outside. Occasionally enemies do not show weapons or move into solid stuff. Unique NPCs or enemies may speak with random standard NPC voices. Sometimes the sarcophagus will already be stored in the warehouse. Occasionally you may not be able to throw the grenade from Nines. Sometimes you can hear rain sounds although it not actually rains. If the passive discipline timer is not working wait for cutscene. Random floating lines of NPCs will not play for female characters. Enemy death may open doors and give items, which Trance does not. Game may crash in cutscenes if you are Obfuscated, so turn it off. When your haven is full of props and the PC inaccessible, reload. If LaCroix ignores a delivered sarcophagus set G.Story_State = 60. Don't feed on quest NPCs and attack them to break feeding trance. If game crashes when entering certain levels drop inventory items. On no precache error crashes in Venture tower try alternate dlls. Open Technical Issues: ---------------------- On start crashes copy all dlls from bin folder to the main folder. To set widescreen resolutions use ResPatcher in Extras directory. Append -dxlevel 80(90) -window(fullscreen) to shortcut on crashes. On crashes of multi cores set process priority low or add -32bit. If game crashes at start test alternate vampire.dll files in dlls. On runtime error with seperate Python version install Extras one. Use console from the menu only or type "chareditor" if it freezes. If you can't find old saved games, check your anti virus program. On index buffer errors with ATI cards install drivers without CCC. To avoid crashes don't play sounds with the Windows Media Player. If you experience random crashes turn the environmental audio off. To avoid loosing saves don't install into standard program files. On crashes try setting "mat_compressedtextures" "1" in config.cfg. To fix multiple eyes on NVIDIA cards override anisotropic filter. If controls lag or the game crashes try Win98 or XP compatibility. Set resolution -w x -h y and use 3D-Analyze app for Intel G31/33. The "Skip intro" button is only visible for resolutions > 800x600. To reinstall clean up registry and remove vtmb.ini from /windows. If a container auto-closes right-click the objects to choose them. Use a swap file of at least 1.5 GB, even if you have more memory. If you can't read papers re-bind "use" away from the mousebuttons. Special dialogue fonts will only appear at resolutions > 800x600. To improve performance add to shortcut -heapsize x, x being RAM/2. If you experience random attacking bind attack away from "enter". When you get a "vertex buffer" error, disable any second monitors. On cutscenes freeze use "camera_kill", "frenzyplayer" or ALT-TAB. Testing out too many histories during selection is prone to crash. To get rid off the bik intro movies just rename the media folder.
