How to do wacky real things with simple stuff... and mild theories about ancient Egypt and ancient Peoples methods of existing and civilization in general.

Disclaimer: I know none of this for sure. Pure speculation and ponderings of what might have been, and how. Some speculations I consider more plausible... and some more far fetched and unlikely... I have no diplomae, nor can claim any authority on this field. These are my "lay theoretical tinkerer" -speculations. Might not be even safe... measures might turn out flimsy and structures collapsing... in other words, you are on your own, if you test or try any of these.

Rest of stuff may be rather obscure or trivial, but I think that perhaps the "Flower Of Life" -technique described, could be used in educating people in basic mathematics, and their "hands on" applications in reality... like "learn as you invent to test new things out"... with very minimal material requirements for this education. Thus it might be formable into a potential "basic civilization sustenance mathematics" course for large and/or poor audiences.


Flower Of Life.

(Needed stuff: string, paper- like thing, improvised marker, sharpish cutter and pin-like thing... some reeds or such could be handy too).

1. take a piece of string. (possible 10 x average adult Iris in length... but 10 x cm probably does very well :) ) fold this precisely to two... and then mark this folding point, as it is the precisely the middle point of this string (like 5x Irises or 5 x cm)

2. Stretch one half of the string to a straight line, over level, even, surface that you can mark and cut (by one way or another... but with precision). Draw this line of 5x irises/cm to surface. (paper or papyrus will do fine). 

3. Place ends of the whole 10 x Iris/cm string precisely at the ends of the line you drew... and stretch the marked midpoint of the string as far as it goes over the  level paper-oid... until both halves of it form tight, straight lines. Mark this spot precisely on paper-oid. Draw these precise direct lines to the paper-oid, so that now you get even, precise triangle. (with 60 degree angles and all).

4. fold one of the 5x irises/cm halves to two... and mark it's midpoint precisely. this length is 2,5 irises/cm... and precisely half point of the triangle's sides. 

5. Measure these midpoints to the triangle sides (from corners of the triangle) and mark them to each side.

6. with tight straight string, draw line from each angle to the opposing side's middle point that you just marked. These three lines will intersect each other at the precisely middle of the triangle. puncture a tiny pinhole here into the paper-oid.

7. (again) Precisely cut the triangle out of the paper-oid.

9. Pin the triangle on top of untouched area of paper-oid. draw it's precise outlines. also continue the intersecting lines marked into it, to the paper-oid, by using tight string (or such) for a bit... a bit longer than the triangles angles can could reach.

10. turn the pinned triangle around, so that the angles now go precisely along the continued lines. draw it's outline (yes,... Precisely) on the paper-oid. Remove the pinned triangle from paper-oid. Now you should have a star of david formation drawn on the paper.

11. Take a piece of string (or reed, or stick, etc....) and pin it to the middle in the star of david formation (it's marked by the pinhole you made while drawing it with triangle) and measure to the angle tip of the star. Draw a circle with it around the star, that thus touches, but does not exceed or cut, all the outer angles. 

12. Now you have a nice round perfect circle (be precise and careful) with it's circumference divided precisely to six. at each of these six points where star angle and the circle meet... draw new circle of the same size. these will all overlap the first circle with the star, and two circles next to it.

13. Now, you'll have 7 circles... and few precise "sixths of circumference" marked into outer ones, where they cut each other. Use these to draw one more layer of overlapping circles to surround the whole thing.

14. Now you have a geometric image called "Flower Of Life". Measure from the precise middle of the star.... to the outest circle length... and use this length to draw a nice big circle around the whole thing. This is to ensure that the image is truly precise, and that each of the 6 outest smaller circles touches (fanfaron..... Precisely !) the large circle, and thus is even and precise. 

15. To be triple sure your image of the Flower Of Life is precise.... draw 2 more whole images (stages 9. to 14. all over again !) and check that all the distances are damn precisely equal in each image.... and.....
16. This Flower Of Life contains... Straight Angle, Metatrons cube, some nice triangles, and nice circles.

 This means that you can now build precise straight lines and straight angles to tools and measuring pieces, and thus to structures and buildings. String and Weight come amazingly handy then.  Also with straight angle, precision units and circles.... you can make precision containers and spatial objects... which can be very handy for calculating and maintaining even very large scale sustenance logistics. These Triangles also get you nicely on the way on recording basic relations of straight angled triangles... which is Trigonometry. With that you can start serious large scale constructions... or just extra precision to building... and measure distances.... build solar clock... and observe the movements of the stars and planets precisely. That means Navigation... (especially with the handy North Star)  which gives the possibility of expeditions and longer trading routes.

If you start constructions by using this.... it may be goody idea indeed to mark the "Flower Of Life" you use, in three nearby checkup copies, to a sheltered foundation stone, or such... scratched with thin precision to the stone, etc. That way the units you use in the construction will stay constant, other people can stay in the sync. with the units on this construction site... and tools can be calibrated by using it's angles, etc. Also this might be some use to those who come after your generation, and will possibly want to maintain, or alter, the structure.

Also, might be good to have one such "3x Flower Of Life -set" visible, yet sheltered from elements, nearby/at  places of exchange and trade, so that units of measure can be thus checked with ease... size of jars and boxes, etc. containers, and length units. 
Speculation: It might be that this is what was done in ancient times in many places... and could explain why there are such at ancient egyptian temple remains, Ancient Indian structures, Moslem Mosques... and old European Churches as well. 


Other elements more or less related:

For extra "effect", you might want to do what I call "Egyptian Triangle Attache Table". which is 2 larger such triangles (about a foot... or say, 50cm... something like that... varies from person to person, perhaps ?) of harder material... like plywood or such... marked on one side with the above mentioned standard sized Flower Of Life.... and side marked with measuring units making it a ordinary ruler. And one side marked with degrees of circle, making it useful for navigation... or stuff  (?). These 2 triangles are place on top of each other, and pieces of paper-oid and some thin pens/writing-feathers can be kept between them. this triangular ruler/measurer "sandwich" is wrapped in sheltering cloth scarf (waxed cloth... even unseemly plastic... but waterproofing is good idea) with belt loops at one end. Thus it can be hung from belt, and extra stuff can be carried by hanging it from that loop. If you put it positioned on front of you, and sit down (especially to lotus-like position squatting position that befits us unflexible folks also...) it will automatically form a handy (?) drawing and writing (and book keeping, etc.) table to your lap, with papers and writing equipments and measuring units inside it to be utilized... perhaps even a handy snap-out-solar clock could be fashioned from one of the triangles at need, to calculate logistics of sustenance (like how much flour a mill can grind in certain time in certain conditions, etc....).

Hmm.... perhaps the egyptian striped, hooked staff... was actually combined handy measuring stick, with precise stripes... walking stick... and poking and moving stuff (without hands on, like bushes and undergrowth) -stick ?

For no reason at all, I add that Egyptian Famous headscarf/headgear *seems* to imitate a rearing up cobra, with the body of it's wearer. Thus it is assumable that at least some Ancient Egyptians identified with a Cobra/Snake (Perhaps conceived from the benevolent Snaking Nile river that gave them almost all of their sustenance ?). Apparently They were keen to measure the movements of the Sirius, as it's phases were (apparently coincidentally... just most closely matching thing in the nature with suitable phases... ) closely linked to the phases of the Nile and it's dangerous but life providing floods of inundation (Inundation = Flooding river brings nutritious mud that can be used as farmland). Thus it could be theorized that they recorded and obsessed with the Siriso (apparently one of their names for the Sirius) movements, enough to use it for navigation on their expeditions to hither and tither. Thus I wildly further speculate that Oral Tradition Records of the Dogon Civilization tell us of the Earth circling the Sun, and Earth being a round sphere... of Ancient Egyptians... and of the wise Snake/Lizard folks that came from the Sirius.... might describe to us that they met with Egyptian peoples who dressed with Cobra Identification apparell, and considered themselves as identifiable with Snake... and wanted to be known as such... and possibly indicated that they had navigated to there with their knowledge of the movements of the Sirius ?  They might even have considered Sirius as the heavenly element that *caused* and *controlled* the movements of the Nile that meant life and prosperity... or chaos and death to the inhabitants of the Nile valley.... and thus they might have considered the Sirius their life giver and cause for existing. They might also have told the Dogon about their (possibly) Osiris -related Flower Of Life, and it's uses... or their calculations of the world with it... or both. Thus they would be likely to be remembered as Kindly Wise Snake Folk... who hailed from Sirius. Seems *possible* to me.

Really wacky ideas: 

  Could person dressed thus as huge cobra, against the sun, wiggle their body and mesmerize actual cobra(s).... like snake charmers of India are said to with the movement of their cobra shaped flutes ? ( Like appear as huge shadowy snakes moving in manner that has social meaning for the cobra species... in the senses of actual Cobra snake ?)

  Many large construction sites of ancient egypt  apparently have used flowing sand, when lowering huge blocks and weights on top of them evenly as sand is easier to move. If such moves were declared, and presented, as ritual contexts.... would they not have been displays of the might of snake-thing... as some huge pieces of architecture move by themselves (or by the might of mathematicians of the Snake People Officially or not) with huge hissing noise being heard from the flowing sand masses under it ? 

  The snake, SuroboruS figure presented in many more (or much less ? ) related images and diagrams of geometrical shapes, may symbolize and represent rope or string used to measure the circumference of the circle, or to divide it in precise sections by folding that rope, marking, and re-applying it to the circle. Also, snake in general along with geometrics may have represented symbolically the measuring rope/string. Also Suroborus that is in loop, may have represented the mightily useful tool of *zero*... . along with it's other symbolisms. This might actually make the "Snake Folks" to mean those who seriously measured, observed, researched and tested their surrounding world and it's phenomena... Scientists in other words... even Free Thinking scientists.... even though their possible theories about Sirius movements *causing* the behaviour of Nile River may have been wrong..... but measurements can be checked and replaced with more accurately reality measuring and predicting ones...



I do not know whether Udjat Eye or Osiris had anything to do with each other.... nor whether Iris was used as measuring unit as it may have seemed to be of more or less constant size in the faces of adult people... whether Osiris iris Siriso is pure coincidence, as iris may have been much newer term, and I am not sure of the Siriso either. I may have interpreted any, or all, Pictoglyphic diagrams and archeological artefacts quite wrongly... and then embellished them with my Imagination... 
thus resulting more and less plausible things that may never have been... even if they can now be built... and *could* have been done way back then.
