Cagefire

This is the basic cagefire design, where airflow comes from below. Sides are left open so that fire can be observed by people. This aspect seems to be very important socially in many cultures.

Cagefire can use different things as fuel, Such as wood pieces, pellets, charcoal, or a cup of burning ethanol. If using wood, instructions for the efficient firewood utilization can be found in the " Efficient Wood Fuel " link near the bottom of this page.

If using wood as cagefire fuel, it increases the efficiency to use lighting fluid. This is not neccessary, but preferable.

Idea of supporting metal rods is that a height of kettle can be adjusted by according the size of the fire, so that kettle can catch the maximum amount of heat energy.

These are basic cagefire measurements from side perspective.

Here an ash collector bowl has been placed beneath the cagefire, for collecting the ashes to be used for fertilizing plants.

More stuff coming to here during October & November 2006
