The legend of Akerhus castle

Akershus Castle lies in downtown Oslo, the capital city of Norway. Many violent murders have happened there, especially in the Virgin Tower, the highest tower of Akershus Fortress. 

A long time ago, a good king ruled the kingdom, but he got older and older, and eventually died. Whole country cried the death of the king, and because he didn't have any children, the king's evil and wicked brother Alexander got the crown. He started many wars against the trolls, and so they became extinct. 

The people of Norway hated Alexander, because trolls were actually friends of humans. Nowadays, there are still many humans who have troll blood in their veins (Sylvester Stallone, for example). Alexander did a lot of terrible things, and the hatred of the Norwegians grew. A young woman called Marie worked in the castle, and she hated king Alexander from the bottom of her heart. 

One day the king killed her brother for no reason (he was just "having fun"). That was when Marie had enough. In the middle of the night she climbed to the tower, where Alexander slept, and stuck a knife through the king's neck. That is how that tower got its name, the Virgin Tower. That virgin did a great thing, and all the Norwegians were very glad. They wanted Marie to be their queen, and so she was crowned, and her children and grand-children etc. ruled Norway for many centuries.

The tower of the Virgin 


A long time ago there was a king who ruled the castle of Akershus. The castle was built by one man's army and his forces, but that evening the king who wanted power attacked the castle and it was a suprise attack. The old king escaped to the virgin tower and he was killed by somebody in the moonlight. 

The new king got to rule Akershus castle. The new king was a good king and he was respected, he enjoyed his time at the virgin tower. The king didn't have any lover he was lonely. His only friend was a major they were good friends. 

The major lived in one room in the castle alone. The new king didn't like to have war against anybody. He had only some war near Oslo. The king lived in the castle always. Finally the new king died in the morning at full moon. The tower was named for the king because he didn't meet any women who he could marry and have children with. The tower was named after the king's death, in respect of the king.

The legend of the virgin tower


Long time ago the virgin tower was a prison. The Virgin tower was a tower were virgins had been held.
Virgins were a disgrace to the world back then, so everybody put in the tower all virgins in Oslo.
Nobody liked virgins so everybody tried not to be a virgin.

In the year 1500 there were no virgins in the country. So king decided that Norway was free of virgins, but the king was wrong. His own daughter was a virgin and the king knew it.
So the princess went to some boy's house and …………

Then the king killed his own daughter because she did that what she did. But at full moon the princess haunted in the castle because she wanted forgiveness from her father. The king didn't know why he regretted his doing.
So the king tried to forgive but the princess didn't want to hear it, she wanted a public appology,
she wanted that the castle would know what he did.

So the king went to the village and yelled that there is no princess anymore. Everybody in the village was horrified and they threw the king to the water. King didn't know how to swim, so he drowned.

The Princess sorrowed her father's death so she went to her grave and rested there for ever. At sunset everybody gathered to the virgin's tower and remembered the king and princess. You can see the princess flying at the castle at night.

The Tower of the Virgin


A long time ago, when dragons and magic creatures ruled the world, Oslo was just a little village. It didn't have any fortress, no kings, no knights, nothing. The people of Oslo just wanted to have a peaceful and quiet life. There were no tears in their faces. Year by year, everything was normal. But then things changed. Gunnar, the eldest of the village, got the order from North Norway.

Dear Gunnar
The Knights of Dragon Lands are here. They attacked our capital town, Tengel.
There are no allies, just enemies. They destroyed our houses. They enslaved us all.
And now they will destroy you and your people. They will destroy everything you have.
Their leader, Queen Agnes, is ferocious and uncharitable. She killed our king, Ragnar.
Gunnar, my friend, you remember that old castle behind the Troll Lake? It is
called Akershus.
Please go there and fight for us all. The Knights of Dragon Lands will be there soon.
Really soon. Are you ready?
They are coming

Then the message suddenly expired.

In Oslo, there were no knights. There were hired men, disreputable fellows and lazy bums. But there were no super heroes. How could a few lazy bums hew down thousands of Black Dragons (and their riders, too?)
Okay. There was no hope. But they thought they could try. Hired men became knights. Their old thin fjord horses became warhorses. They thought they were ready. But there was one thing about which Gunnar was worried. His daughter, Gunnhild.

She was only sixteen years old, but she wanted to fight, too. But Gunnar did not want that his daughter should meet her death in that hopeless fight. Gunnar hid his daughter in the highest tower of Akershus. Maybe the Dragon Knights will not find her.

At midnight, a soldier called Ruben (the laziest bum of Oslo) saw something weird. Thousands of black wings in the sky. Five minutes after that, there was a war. People fell down from the walls. Dragons breathed fire towards the soldiers. And Queen Agnes found her way to the highest tower of Akershus. Gunnhild tried to fight, but
Queen Agnes just killed her.

Queen Agnes didn't know that she got the old curse. The next morning she died, in terrible pains. The Knights of Dragon Lands were black-weared, cruel people. Nobody knew where they were from and what they wanted.
The next morning, the sky was not blue. The events of the night were so cruel, that the sky was red.
Bloody red.

Yes, this time people of Oslo lost the fight. (But some years later, Norway finally won Knights of Dragon Lands with Sweden's help.) And the highest tower of Akershus is called The Tower of Virgin in memory of Gunnhild. This was the legend of Akershus castle.

A long time ago, morning there was a castle in Oslo, Norway, called Akershus Castle.  A beautiful girl lived there. She had to get  married, but she didn’t want. The Year was 1368. The castle was new. There was a man in the country. This man wanted a princess. This princes married a Swedish man one winter’s day. The  next morning was princess day. Next summer’s day, all people of the castle died. The Swedish man was very very happy. He wanted this. He got what he want. He word every castle and went back to Sweden.

That day the castle became a ruin. Because the princess was dead.

Denmark's people is very happy because they hate their king. The virgin tower was weak in the war because there is all virgin Women. The virgin tower catch he's name to virgin women's. Norway conquered Denmark and Denmark get lost the world map.

Long ago Akershus's fortress was as the greatest castle in whole Norway, but now is so falling down. And sometimes people wonder, why castle has a tower called "Virgin tower"...

A long time ago the tower of Virgin was the gatehouse of Akershus castle. An old story tells that one night a young girl had been locked in the bricks of the wall of that tower; nobody knows why.
Every May a beautiful flower blooms, under the tower's window, the place where girl's tears had flowed........

A long time ago the god Odin ruled the World and his humbles were all trolls and Vikings. Odin was a terminator, he enslaved all who dared defy him or his decisions. The trolls and Vikings got enough of Odin, they created a plan to defeat him.

The trolls called all knights of north-Norway to fight against Odin. Odin's daughter was arrested and put in one of towers of the castle. The girl was Anya and she was very pretty. One of the knights, Karl is his name, wanted to save Anya.

When the others fought, Karl sneaked in to the Tower. But there's one obstacle on his way. A dragon, a very big and green dragon. Karl and the dragon fought a very long time, but finally the dragon won and killed Karl. Nobody came to save Anya and she died in the Tower alone. That's why the Tower is named "The Tower of Virgin".

The wizard's name became the curse of the war. He had one mighty spell. That spell's name is sudden death. Everybody was scared of that legendary. Denmark had over 1000 000 soldiers and Norway had only 10 000 because all Norway's soldier's were dead. 

Norway's king said " the Curse of the war needs to go save the castle" and the wizard went and he did the sudden death and 1000 soldier's died and the wizard learned a new spell that created an explosion. When Denmark's soldiers heard that they were all scared and all attacked the castle. The castle was almost destroyed but the wizard did the explosion. All Denmark's soldiers died but the castle was destroyed too. But Norway did win!

And Norway's king wanted revenge to Denmark. The Virgin's castle was weak in the war, because there were only virgin women. Oslo's King: "The next war will come soon! Denmark will come back. We shall see!!!"

Akershus castle is situated in Oslo, the capital of Norway. The Tower of the Virgin was the gatehouse of Akershus castle. A long time ago, The legend tells tourists, that the Virgin tower was haunted by some girl whose name was Irmeli. A long time ago The Tourists asked why Irmeli haunted there. The answer was because she died out there. The Tourists had been warned, but they did not believe that story… 

Until one day when this happened…The day when that happened was terrible, The tourists will never come there again. You maybe think what then happened, I tell you. Well some tourist went to the Virgin Tower and he never came back, he died when Irmeli hung him. 

You maybe think way Irmeli did that, well about one thousand years ago Irmeli went to the Tower and somehow somebody hung her over there, and now you ask why the Tower is name is the Virgin. Well, Irmeli was a virgin when she die That was the Virgin Tower story.

The Tower of the Virgin 

A long time ago, there was a king in Oslo, who wanted to be the greatest king in the world. He built a great fortress, Akershus, where he lived alone while his soldiers were fighting for his lands.
Everyone thought that he is a protective and nice king, but at the same time he became more evil.

One winter's day he became totally dark, and everyone in Oslo lived in fear of the war.
That day changed the king's life. The king got a letter which said that his army has died and Sweden, Denmark and Finland have gathered an army, and its only purpose was to destroy the fortress of Akershus. 

The king did not have any soldiers so he invited every boy from his town to his castle,
and he gave them swords and helmets. The next evening they were all waiting for the great army.
It started to rain. Suddenly they saw a torches at the tree line, and then the great fight of Akershus started.

They fought all night long, but suddenly from the clean sky, a lightning hit The Unnamed Tower, and the evil king died. Oslo surrendered and, because all thought that the virgin Maria did that lightning and The Unnamed Tower got a name, The Tower of the Virgin.

The Tower of the Virgin was a strongly build tower, that was part of the Akershus fortress. The tower had a big part of the War of Akershus. The king was at the fortress and he was ready to battle. The King was worried because his troops were smaller than the Danish. Denmark tried to take over the fortress in 1500. The Danish troops marched to the fortress and all hell broke lose. "If we die today! Then we are gonna show them hell before that!!!" the king shouted. 

There was a bloody fight. The Danish troops were three times bigger than the Norwegian troops. The King had a child. A young girl. She took part in the fight. She was only 14, but she was very good at fighting. She took many Danish heads off. "We are doomed! God is against us!" The Norwegian troops had to retreat to The Tower of the Virgin. If there is a place where we can beat them it's in the tower!!!" 

There was the final fight of Denmark vs. Norway. All living soldiers were there fighting for their lives. "There are 20 soldiers against one of mine, but we can beat them!!!" The Norwegian troops beat the Danish troops. It seemed like a miracle, like God had something to do with it. At sunset the fortress was painted the color of blood. "We are saved! God wasn`t against us after all!" The Tower of the Virgin got its name because the fight against Denmark was its first. It was like a virgin, until of that.

That night died so many guys and some women too. The king screamed "We can't win this war because the enemies have too many people!!!" but suddenly, someone said that many people were coming in there. The king saw them and said No...
More enemies are attacking to the tower... But the king doesn't want to give up. He said he guys that we can't give up
now... And the guys kill the enemies and said "We won..." This is my tower and this is The tower of the virgin...
