This is the Rainbow bootlegs, concerts and tour dates info page of my site.

This page is dedicated to the memory of The Man On The Silver Mountain, mr. Ronnie James Dio who sadly passed away on May 16th 2010...Ronnie's mystical lyrics and operatic vocals along with Ritchie's signature guitarring is what made Rainbow such a very unique and inspirational band. In live form the band truly came alive, sometimes expanding songs to near the 20 minute mark and Still I'm Sad sometimes way over it...Jams, solos and improvisations were what the band was all about. Naturally Ritche's temper and hot headedness always gave it's own special spice to the mix...one could never really know what to expect. Sadly (but luckily for Black Sabbath) Ritchie wanted the band to go commercial all the way and make radio friendly songs that were closer to pop than hard rock/metal, which again Ronnie was not willing to do so Ritchie fired him in late 1978. But the subsequent albums were lacking in every way compared to the first three studio albums, which can be considered all time classics in the world of Hard Rock and early Heavy Metal. Songs like The Man On The Silver Mountain, Sixteenth Century Greensleeves, the magnum opus Stargazer (which might very well be one of the best songs ever made), Starstruck, A Light In The Black, Long Live Rock 'n Roll, Kill The King and the masterful Gates Of Babylon, just to mention few, are suberb and should be treated as classics and they all have a very special place in my heart.
